A distraction-free local notepad
Open plain text, Markdown, JSON, and log files instantly. Find and replace text, then save as TXT.
Edit the text itself
Use Notepad for a quick note, a log extract, or a text file that needs a few corrections. It opens TXT, Markdown, JSON, CSV, and LOG files as plain text. Find and replace helps with repeated edits; it does not check whether JSON is valid or calculate CSV values.
Choose how to save your text
Save a copy downloads a TXT file. The editor offers text encoding and line-ending options; choose the ones expected by the program that will read your file. If you opened JSON or Markdown, the text can still contain that syntax, but the downloaded filename ends in .txt.
Notepad does not add rich formatting such as bold text, page layouts, or tables. For a CSV file that you want to work with as cells and rows, use the Excel Editor instead.
Do not rely on the draft alone
Your text is processed on this device. A local draft can help you resume work in the same browser when storage is available, but it does not sync between devices. Download anything you want to keep before clearing browser data or leaving a shared computer.
